"Make a joyful Noise and Clap Your hands ! Raise a shout on High !
Make a joyful Noise and Clap your hands, lift your voice to the Sky ! "
We the Church are one, guided by the love of God in Christ Jesus helping people experience God's presence in their lives and in the world.
The Second Congregational Church is rooted deeply in the New England Congregational tradition. The long history of Congregationalism includes the sending of the first Missionaries to foreign lands, the ordination of the first African American, the ordination of the first Woman Pastor, and many other "firsts."
In 1957, the Congregationalists formed a union with the Evangelical and Reformed Church of German heritage. This new union was named The United Church of Christ. In very recent times the union has grown to include the Disciples of Christ. We are proud to claim a connection to theologies from Conservative to Progressive. The statement of the UCC holds that, "No matter who you you are or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here." We do our best to live that out. We hope you will come and join us for Spirit led worship and great fellowship!
